ISO 9001:2008 refers specifically to simply 6 documented procedures, however, other documentation are usually necesary by a business so that you can manage the processes that are needed for the effective operation of the QMS. Besides the minimum document requirements the standard defines 21 years old specific requirements for records. There are many requirements of ISO 9001:2008 where value could be put into a top quality management system through the preparation of other documents to show conformity such as process flow charts, process descriptions, organization charts, specifications, work instructions, approved supplier lists and inspection plans. The documentation required by something to achieve ISO 9001 certification has stopped being as onerous as before 2000 along with the price of ISO 9001 certification for an organisation has not been higher.
