Maybe you have seen Leah Devora`s striking and alluring art in the news hanging around the multiple HBO`s hit series, Entourage, in addition to E.R., Without A Trace, West Wing and Six Feet Under or maybe on the Arc Light Theater on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, where she had an exhibition of stars and celebrities around the walls between your movie theaters. Her art is bold, exciting and beautiful. I buy inspired by daily life situations that we encounter and moving into what was the first Old Hollywood neighborhood in the 1920s. Leah works in mixed media, on commission pop art, in some recoverable format, installed on wood, combining images of photography manipulated and digitally painted on the computer, as well as with traditional oil and acrylic paints.

My biggest strength could be the capability to visualize something from starting to completion conceptually and then create my painting having a very honest vision. I’m a colorist i really learn how to use color inside my are along with composition. When Leah gone after La five years ago, she was fascinated with all of the freeways especially shopping carts appearing, disappearing, reappearing. From Silver Lake to Beverly Hills, shopping carts are scattered on front lawns, going out in groups, taking a rest about the garage as well as waiting in the bus stop. They're an indigenous area of the L.A. landscape. She integrates these images with that relating to the Golden Age of Hollywood. A few of my work consists of imagery i call the Ghosts of L . a .. Whether the abandoned shopping carts left around the sidewalks of Los Feliz or photos of silent film starlets, the force of such displaced figurines haunt the neighborhoods of Hollywood of an past somewhat forgotten. The Ghosts that lie under the Hills, they walk amongst us. My landscapes are paintings that are the personification of such motifs, some of them I combine with the silhouettes of Old Hollywood movie stars and freeways. I make the artwork using graphics and oil painting techniques. I personally use paints, photography and paint digitally with an oil painting program on the computer. Then i print them on canvas and paint them over with oils then varnish them. There aren’t actual photos inside the artwork. http://leahdevora.com
