Every region possesses some particular characteristics depending on the those who reside in it. These traits can reflect the region's economy, social behavior, social customs, physical location, commerce, industrialization, religion, along with other things.


The term 'demographics' is essence a shortened form of what we can call 'population characteristics'. Demographics include age, per capita income, mobility (when it comes to travel time to work or variety of vehicles available), educational and academic a higher level individuals, valuation on ownership (that also includes properties and assets like homes, apartments, garden and such others), status of employment and even the topography in the region. Demographics find its use within researching the market, opinion research, political research, and assessment with the changing trends of consumer behavior and its patterns. But Company is better used by marketing managers, since the various characteristics of those reflect their tastes and give a solid idea of the possibilities of the sales returns of the launched product within a given area. Demographics may be called an art as well as a science. Unlike demography, which puts emphasis on biological processes like population dynamics, demographics make an effort to grasp what folks think and what they may be willing to buy. Demographics can be studied under the following heads: 1) Demographic variables - the groupings from the consumers along with other such communities created by social and marketing analysts. Essentially the most frequently employed ones are: age, sex, sexual orientation, family size, household size, family life cycle, income, occupation, education, home ownership, socioeconomic status, religion and nationality. 2) Demographic profiles - definition of several demographic variables. 3) Demographic trends - predictability of the demographic shifts.
