Self-published ebooks have a tendency to obtain a bad rap. That is understandable, as there are plenty of garbage on the market. But as both a self-published eBook author and as someone who purchases self-published ebooks, I do think it's one of the better ways to get information - knowing the best way to pre-qualify the e book author. Following are four a few things i consider when searching for a self-published author before I hit the buy now button.

1. Author Experience: This is the first area I investigate when I'm contemplating buying an e book from the self-published author. I want to see whether they have got experience in what they're speaking about. Many traditionally published books contain a lots of fluff, or are incredibly traditional within their advice. eBook publishers are usually the opposite. They've was able to find a success formula without going the regular route, and they put this experience of an e-book. And, this why I love buying ebooks from self-published authors. It is first-hand advice from somebody who took the bull by the horns, found success, and shared it in the book. 2. Professional Background: This is the close cousin concise above. I prefer to glean a little concerning the self-published author's background. This offers me some insight into their depth of expertise and yes it informs me a great deal about how precisely they approach their subject theme. As one example, I am a freelance writer since 1993 and also have experienced publishing since 1987. So, I am aware about freelance writing from several different angles. While i write, this experience comes across in the subject material. Your reader is aware that I know what I'm discussing. I wish to understand that a self-published author knows what he/she's speaking about before I get from their store. 3. Author Website: You can discern a lot about an guide author from his/her website/blog. I look for specifics like are they using other in-depth info on the website, or possibly it filled up with plenty of unrelated affiliate programs? May be the site full of content pulled from article submission sites, or has got the author written extensively about the subject him/herself? Is the site updated regularly, or was the final post last month? Doing this lets me know how well the article author knows his/her subject theme and the way serious they are regarding profession. 4. Google the Author: One of the better approaches to learn more about an guide author is usually to simply Google their name. You would be impressed by such a simple Search engine can create. Things i mainly look for is further professional credentials and/or involvement inside the niche their eBook is all about. For instance, they have written for, been mentioned on, or participated in discussions on other sites? They have been published on blogs in their niche? Do others connect to their material or consider them a specialist? All this lends credence with their legitimacy and author status. Good Stephen Leather books dispense first-hand information in a professional, no-nonsense manner. It is not fluff, but experience that can be supported with facts. And this is why self-publishing continues to grow and reputable e book authors are thriving.
