When seeing the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, tourists should spend time at the key attractions that draw many people each and every year. At first glance, this island may seem like a sleepy beach resort but it is bustling with activity and loaded with fun things to do. Khirokitia is surely an archeological site that extends back towards the Neolithic age. It is one among the best-preserved and quite a few important prehistoric sites within the Eastern Mediterranean. Kourion was obviously a city that thrived in the second century B.C. from the early Dark ages. Excavations continue at this amazing archeological site, revealing new finds. Kourion features a remarkable Greco-Roman Theatre, a Christian Basilica, and regal villas featuring mosaic floors. The Nymphaeum is an elegant structure committed to the water nymphs and merely outside of the city can be a woodland god's host to worship and also the sanctuary of Hylates. Lefkara Village, located in the Larnaca district, is renowned for its silver handicrafts and lace, that features a long history there. Unique, picturesque architecture including stone houses and cobbled streets distinguishes this village from others in your community. Within the village, tourists can explore handicraft and wax museums, chapels and churches dating on the 1200's, the Machairas Monastery, as well as the Saint Minas Convent.
