One powerful way Mount Vernon amplifies learning is by design thinking. As a partner of Stanford's d.School, MVPS opened the middle for Design Thinking in 2010, engaging students in real-world, people-centered problem-solving. Mount Vernon now offers a number of other intriguing ways for students to try out the entire world, such as a unique offering called Interim Term. Traveling through cultural arts trips, national college tours, mission trips, and doing internships, students broaden their learning experiences at night classroom.

Additionally, opportunities for the stage abound with 90% of students taking part in one or more of the School's 45 teams.
