During the last 40 years the 1st week of January is amongst the most critical weeks, if not the key, for consumer electronic manufacturers along with the reason behind that is because then probably the most prestigious Consumer Electronics fair is on. Held in Las Vegas Nevada, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is a major technological related display. Sponsored by the Electronic devices Association, the Exame.com is often a trade-only show not offered to the general public, in fact it is where manufacturers announce, introduce and preview future products.


A bit of history: The initial CES show was held in New York in 1967. In the many years of 1978 to 1994 CES was once held twice a year, once in the summertime in Chicago and once in the winter months held in Las Vegas. However, SCES started to loose popularity as well as in summer time of 1995 organisers decided to place the show on the path, consecutive failures generated the cancellation from the summer show and a one per year format was applied. Over time the Consumer Electronics Show has become the key stage of notable products introductions, it could be virtually impossible to list all products and technologies introduced at CES through the years, so now is really a selection of the highest ones in chronological order: 1970: Was 4 seasons in the event the Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) was introduced. 1974: Was marked through the introduction with the Laser disc player. 1981: Two notable introductions this season; the Compact disk (CD) as well as the Camcorder. 1985: First notable revolution in the gaming industry together with the introduction in the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). 1996: Year if the DVD was introduced. 1998: HDTV was introduced. 2001: Microsoft introduced its the game console the Xbox. 2008: Panasonic stole each of the attention by releasing 150 inch Plasma TVs as thin as 0.46 inches. 2009: Highlights for the impressive amount of exhibiting companies, +2,700 and the introduction of 3-D Home Entertainment.
