During the last 40 years the very first week of January is probably the most important weeks, if not the most crucial, for consumer electronic manufacturers and the cause of this is because that is when essentially the most prestigious Electronics fair is on. Kept in the city of Las Vegas Nevada, the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) can be a major technological related trade event. Sponsored through the Consumer Electronics Association, the Exame.com is a trade-only show not open to the public, which is where manufacturers announce, introduce and preview future products.


A little bit of history: The 1st CES show happened in New York in 1967. From the numerous years of 1978 to 1994 CES had been held each, once during the warm months in Chicago and when in the winter months held in Las Vegas. However, SCES begin to loose popularity and in the summer of 1995 organisers chose to position the visible on the street, consecutive failures triggered the cancellation from the summer show and a one per year format was applied. Through the years the Consumer Electronics Show has been the key stage of notable products introductions, it will be virtually impossible to list out all products and technologies introduced at CES through the years, out of your tender can be a selection of the most known ones in chronological order: 1970: Was the year when the Video Cassette Recorder (VCR) was introduced. 1974: Was marked by the introduction in the Laser disc player. 1981: Two notable introductions this year; the Compact Disc (CD) as well as the Camcorder. 1985: First notable revolution in the gaming industry together with the introduction from the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). 1996: Year when the DVD was introduced. 1998: HDTV was introduced. 2001: Microsoft introduced its gaming console the Xbox. 2008: Panasonic stole each of the attention by releasing 150 inch Plasma TVs as thin as 0.46 inches. 2009: Highlights to the impressive number of exhibiting companies, +2,700 as well as the introduction of 3-D Entertainment.
