One powerful way Mount Vernon amplifies learning is by design thinking. Like a partner of Stanford's d.School, MVPS opened the very center for Design Thinking this year, engaging students in real-world, people-centered problem solving. Mount Vernon offers many intriguing methods for students to see the globe, such as a unique offering called Interim Term. Traveling through cultural arts trips, national college tours, mission trips, and doing internships, students broaden their learning experiences at night classroom.
Impacting the wider Atlanta area, Mount Vernon students perform more than 10,000 hours of community service annually. Additionally, opportunities for the stage abound with 90% of students playing one or more of the School's 45 teams.
Extending the mission of Atlanta private schools beyond the walls with the school, Mount Vernon's Institute for Innovation delivers Modern day teaching and learning to local and global communities.
Through professional learning workshops, international exchange opportunities, and repair and outreach, the Institute builds effective public-private partnerships that promote inquiry, innovation and impact.
