Hate Words in Politics3377771
We need to manage to acknowledge what words mean. It seems like this kind of obvious matter even if it's just merit mention, because words are simple things. They mean what they mean, and everybody knows those definitions. So why should it be necessary to mention we have to agree on them once we already do?Mostly because many people appear to still find it a good idea to subvert the established meanings of words for his or her own political purposes.
These individuals recklessly exaggerate and outright lie to get their ends, and the loser is the English language. This misuse of words creates exactly what are called “buzzwords”. They're used frequently all around the political spectrum, but the left appears to have a specific penchant for employing them, and a couple of their favorites to utilize against those who work in alt right are “racist” and “xenophobe”.Before we get into what has been done about bat roosting words regularly, let's make a list of: Will we understand and concur what they mean? It's worth the cost to essentially think about that question, because history shows us exactly how ugly these words may be. At one time, it had been common around the globe (including, sadly, in the usa) for folks of African descent to become subjugated and enslaved for free labor by whites around the understanding, overlooked, that blacks were inherently inferior and possessed of no human rights which whites were guaranteed to respect (in other words a really vile Supreme court decision passed down within the nineteenth century). That's racism. Moreover, within this very day, you can find people belonging to a certain religion who will be so convinced with the rightness of these faith along with the wickedness of most others that they're wholly intolerant of people who profess an alternative world view. Those who find themselves nothing like options are punished in several ways, including with death. That's xenophobia. But the left wants to throw these words around like they don't really describe true evil, and rehearse these to label people of your right wing political persuasion and those from the Alt Right movement. And why? Do you know the crimes of your companion so branded? Usually being worried about individuals from areas of the entire world seen to harbor terrorists (including the aforementioned religious zealots) and planning to promote border security against illegal invasions from people that eventually overwhelmingly belong to a selected ethnicity. That, left, is xenophobia and racism - our buzzwords for the day.
