FABRIC SELECTIONS: Cotton and linen are often used as curtains with valance. Though these are pretty when new, they do not clean well and aren't very consumer friendly. Essentially the most widely used fabric is polyester. It's highly cleanable and is available in many styles, from plain to fancy embroidered weaves. Polyester can be a far more sheer fabric and allows nice light in, which brightens the room as well as your atmosphere. Drape fabric is much heavier and gives a place darkening effect. This will assist light sensitive upholstery fabrics from quickly fading. Rich fabrics, such as velvet, silk, antique satin, in addition to a wide variety of others. It all comes back for the decor you are interested in. These fabrics must always be dry-cleaned. Having these treatments cleaned installed, once a year, will offer them added a lot of attractive life.

STYLE and LENGTH: Curtains may or otherwise not be pleated. The window as well as the style curtain you prefer determine the length and size. Curtains may be draped over decorative rods in a single continuous flow creating the look of swag on the top with flowing side panels. They can be pinch pleated or many other ways, based on the decor of your respective area. Curtains may be attached to French doors or over sliding doors. Again, you decide on. Drapes are nearly always pleated. They are often tied back, so the sheer curtains show, or applied to traverse rods for closure. Drapes usually are from the ceiling or top of the window towards the floor to produce whatever look you can imagine. Often, drapes are lined to offer extra warmth or darkness into a room. Some drapes have various styles of valances them over to provide depth and formality to the room. Occasionally, valances with side panels they fit over all types of blinds for yet another style. UTILITY and PRIVACY: The buyer, based on the style complexity, without specialist, can install his / her curtains. Curtains can shield a space from some dust and lightweight. However, they are quite inept in filtering much light because of the sheer nature and as mentioned before, curtains offer little or no privacy for the same reason. Drapes, however, give you the utility of shielding your room from harsh and frequently unwanted light, due to the thickness of the fabric and also the inclusion of being lined. These are quite ideal for apartments, condos or other locations where buildings are close together. Drapes help in keeping your home private and peaceful. ELEGANCE: Elegance influences eye with the beholder. Curtains may be elegant, however are usually a greater portion of a software application than an accent piece inside your decorating scheme. They are appropriate in a home or office as well as other formal or informal spaces. An embroidered curtain can look very elegant, if that is the design you want or perhaps a plain sheer curtain may also look beautiful. Drapes, by their denser appearance, carry a more elegant appearance than curtains to your room. The pad is richer as well as the pleats provide a deeper turn to that decor. Drapes usually touch a floor and in some decorative schemes, flow to the floor to offer an endless appearance. Drapes are more appropriate inside a marriage or banquet hall, mansions, churches, and truly spaces that need a much more formal or elegant appearance. SPACE REQUIREMENTS: Greater pleats you have, the higher will be the stacking space they might require when opened. Curtains, often, have no pleats and much more times today, remain closed. Should they be opened, many drapes have no pinch pleats or very thin ones and undertake very little space when open. Drapes have to have a lot more space when open as the fabric is really a lot thicker, particularly when lined. Within a small space, if drapes are to be used, they should be draped and tied last an immobile position for maximum open exposure.
