One Piece all began with all the creator, Eiichiro Oda. Eiichiro Oda was inspired by Akira Toriyama's Dragonball and Dr. Slump at the young age. Since childhood, he took a liking to Vikings anf the husband aspired to turn into a manga artist. Afterwards, Oda created Pandaman for Yudetamago's Kinnikuman. During 1992, Oda at the age of 17, posted the manga called Required. This got him noticed, enough as a way to join workers from the Weekly Shonen Jump paper. There, he became an assistant under several established manga freelancers including Shinobu Kaitani, Masaya Tokuhiro, and finally, Nobuhiro Watsuki. Oda had wanted to make a pirate manga from his dependence on vikings throughout his youth, and that he was also inspired through various pirate events much like the discovery in the pirate vessel of Edward Teach, often known as Bleackbeard. He wrote two separate one-shots through the mid-1990s, as both versions were called "Romance Dawn". The stories introduced Monkey D. Luffy, the straw-hat wearing boy who endeavors to sail the ocean to become a legendary pirate. Several concepts around the eventual serialization appeared in those stories, including Luffy's inspiration for being a pirate along with the mysterious power he gained from eating a unique fruit that turned his body into rubber. Some might recognize this idea since it relates to One Piece's concept regarding Devil Fruits. Around August 1997, Oda took many his "Romance Dawn" ideas and began utilizing them in a very weekly serial beneath the particular title "One Piece". It was first serialized in Shonen Jump, the weekly shonen magazine operated and owned by Shueisha. The specific series quickly caught on and became popular through the initial chapters and onwords, becoming one of several premiere manga series inside the magazine. At first, Oda wanted his series running for five years, meaning One Piece would have ended in 2002, yet he went longer than expected. At this time, all people have little idea how many more years his story will likely take. Oda had already planned the ending from the beginning of a single Piece. Despite the length of time it will take him to carry out it, he said he'll end One Piece the way he planned from the start. One Piece has since spanned across the borders of Japan becoming something higher than a simple pirating tale. As time passes by reviewing the serialization, One Piece has taken different directions in their storyline sometimes wavering in the initial focus in the pursuit for become Pirate King. One Piece has been noted to include many themes such as what treasure is, this is of justice combined with the concept of chasing dreams.
