You may have seen Leah Devora`s striking and alluring art on TV hanging about the groups of HBO`s hit series, Entourage, as well as E.R., Without A Trace, West Wing and Six Feet Under or even with the Arc Light Theater on Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood, where she'd an exhibition of stars and celebrities about the walls relating to the concert halls. Her art is bold, exciting and beautiful. I purchase inspired by daily life situations which i encounter and surviving in what was the main Old Hollywood neighborhood in the 1920s. Leah works in mixed media, on marilyn monroe pop art, in some recoverable format, installed on wood, combining images of photography manipulated and digitally painted with a computer, as well as with traditional oil and acrylic paints.

My biggest strength is the power to visualize something from starting out completion conceptually and after that create my painting with a very honest vision. I’m a colorist and that i really learn how to use color during my work as along with composition. When Leah transferred to Los Angeles five-years ago, she was fascinated by all of the freeways and particularly shopping carts appearing, disappearing, reappearing. From Silver Lake to Beverly Hills, shopping carts are scattered on front lawns, lurking in groups, taking a rest about the garage or perhaps waiting in the bus stop. They're an indigenous part of the L.A. landscape. She integrates these images with those of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Some of my work includes imagery i call the Ghosts of La. Whether it be the abandoned shopping carts left on the sidewalks of Los Feliz or photos of silent film starlets, the force of these displaced figurines haunt the neighborhoods of Hollywood of an past somewhat forgotten. The Ghosts that lie under the Hills, they walk amongst us. My landscapes are paintings which can be the personification of such motifs, a lot of them I complement the silhouettes of Old Hollywood celebrities and freeways. I make the artwork using graphic design and oil painting techniques. I take advantage of paints, photography and paint digitally with the oil painting program on your computer. I then print them on canvas and paint over them with oils then varnish them. There aren’t actual photos inside the artwork. http://leahdevora.com
