As Yemen descends further into war, a hunger crisis is also escalating. The Un reports that food is "scarce" within the conflict zones in southern Yemen. Vendors cannot restock their supplies. Food costs are soaring. Displaced Yemenis in Abyan, Al Dhale'e and Lahj governorates need food assistance. Host communities for that displaced are offering to you food aid. However, the UN warns that cannot be sustained. The host communities themselves experience hunger and have little reserve. اخبار اليمن اليوم, before the newest violence, was mired in hunger and poverty. According to the World Food Programme (WFP) over 40 % of Yemenis suffer from hunger. Around 5 million Yemenis live with severe hunger.

WFP was likely to feed 6 000 0000 Yemenis prior to latest conflict erupted. Also facing massive hunger emergencies in Syria and Iraq, WFP will be asked to offer food assistance to Yemen's war victims. The UN food agency was facing a lack of funds for the Yemen mission according to a study covering February. WFP relies entirely on voluntary donations. As Houthi rebels battle forces faithful to Yemen's ousted president, a civil war looms. It gets more dangerous as Al Qaeda in Yemen is gaining strength amid this chaos. As time passes essentially the most deadly foe would be the hunger and malnutrition. UNICEF is reporting a lack of Plumpy'Nut in four governorates. Plumpy'Nut can be a peanut paste used to treat child malnutrition. Without food, kids are likely to suffer lasting both mental and physical damage, or death. With the Ministry of Health, UNICEF is arranging the delivery of extra Plumpy'nut of those governorates in need. Yemen has long struggled with child malnutrition, with some in the highest rates on the planet. Millions of children need special foods like Plumpy'Nut. Use of those displaced though remains a challenge for aid groups. Humanitarian agencies are demanding a ceasefire to usher in food as well as other life-saving aid.
