For all of us who spent my youth in the 80s movies, the music activity of this decade will continue the soundtrack to the key moments of our own lives. Music behaves as a time machine, transporting us back over the years and rekindling memories, both the good and the bad, and 1980s music provided a tune for each and every event in that tumultuous decade.

The 80s began in turmoil and social unrest and also the music reflected this dependence on change. The decade began hanging to the coattails in the Punk revolution that took direct action against the bland musical fare in the late seventies, but carried out with stadium rock, manufactured made in huge amounts pop plus a confidence and swagger that matched the world's mood even as entered the 90's inside a spirit of optimism and hope with falling in the Iron Curtain in 1989. The dawn in the MTV era meant that the looks of an band was as essential as their musical ability and this principle was seized upon from the New Romantic Movement, who dressed flamboyantly and daubed themselves with makeup -annoying their elders up to it delighted their peers. Having begun in this particular state of flux, 1980s music continued to evolve as technology emerged and artists, musicians and movie makers began to experiment. However, because decade unfurled, so the mainstream music, once again, returned into a formulaic approach together with the production companies, much like the phenomenally successful 'Stock, Aitkin and Waterman' manufacture hit after hit after hit of disposable pop. This saw an upswing with the producer - the front men and women of the bands selected just as much for their eye candy appeal every talent or capacity to write songs and play instruments. Music had truly become the maximum amount of a visible medium being an aural one. Nevertheless, a solid 'alternative' scene survived throughout these times, as diverse as Indie rock and pop, Goth, Hip Hop and House. 1980s music laid the principles for so a lot of the music we tune in to today.
