For people who spent my youth in the 80s music, the music of that decade will remain the soundtrack towards the key moments in our lives. Music provides for a time machine, transporting us back over time and rekindling memories, both the pros and cons, and 1980s music provided a tune for each and every event in that tumultuous decade.

The 80s began in turmoil and social unrest as well as the music reflected this requirement of change. The last decade began hanging about the coattails of the Punk revolution that took direct action against the bland musical fare in the late seventies, but through with stadium rock, manufactured made in huge amounts pop plus a confidence and swagger that matched the earth's mood even as we entered the 90's within a spirit of optimism and hope with falling of the Iron Curtain in 1989. The dawn with the MTV era resulted in the visual appeal of a band was as important as their musical ability this also principle was seized upon by the New Romantic Movement, who dressed flamboyantly and daubed themselves with makeup -annoying their elders up to it delighted their peers. Having begun in this state of flux, 1980s music continued to evolve as technologies emerged and artists, musicians and film makers began to experiment. However, since the decade unfurled, and so the mainstream music, again, returned to a formulaic approach with the production companies, just like the phenomenally successful 'Stock, Aitkin and Waterman' manufacture hit after hit after hit of disposable pop. This saw the increase with the producer - top men and women of the bands selected as much for his or her eye candy appeal every talent or capability to write songs and play instruments. Music had truly become all the a visible medium just as one aural one. Nevertheless, a powerful 'alternative' scene survived through these times, as diverse as Indie rock and pop, Goth, Rap and House. 1980s music laid the principles for thus much of the music we pay attention to today.
