For all of us who spent my youth inside the 80s music, the music activity of the decade will continue to be the soundtrack on the key moments in our lives. Music behaves as a time machine, transporting us back over time and rekindling memories, both the pros and cons, and 1980s music provided a tune for every single event in this tumultuous decade.


The 80s began in turmoil and social unrest along with the music reflected this requirement of change. The last decade began hanging to the coattails from the Punk revolution that took direct action from the bland musical fare in the late seventies, but finished stadium rock, manufactured produced in higher quantities pop along with a confidence and swagger that matched our planet's mood even as entered the 90's in a spirit of optimism and hope with falling in the Iron Curtain in 1989. The dawn of the MTV era meant that the look and feel of the band was as important as their musical ability this also principle was seized upon by the New Romantic Movement, who dressed flamboyantly and daubed themselves with makeup -annoying their elders just as much as it delighted their peers. Having begun in this state of flux, 1980s music continued to evolve as new technologies emerged and artists, musicians and film makers started to experiment.
