Cusco, located in the region of Cusco in southeastern Peru, is an important historical and tourist destination which every year receives almost a million visitors throughout the entire world. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983.

Cusco was the main city of the glorious Inca Empire until the arrival of the Spanish conqueror Francisco Pizarro, who plundered town and rebuilt it. The Spaniards destroyed many Inca temples and palaces, and built their new city in the walls that remained standing.

Cusco is easily the most visited city in Peru. The town possesses a multitude of incredibly beautiful fine old buildings including the Cathedral of Cuzco, La Merced Church and Convent, the Plaza de Armas, and much more. Nearby Cusco, must-see attractions add the fortress of Sacsayhuaman and of course, the stunning citadel of Machu Picchu, one of several New Seven Wonders of the World. Cusco counts with a selection of restaurants, souvenirs shops and bars, where tourists can also enjoy a fun time and earn good memories and cusco hotels offer cozy accommodations, ideal to consider an opportunity after having a day of exciting excursions. Peru's southernmost city, Tacna, is the capital in the region with the same name. Throughout the Pacific War, Tacna was occupied by Chileans, along with Arica. A plebiscite to find out both regions' sovereignty was meant to be held after Ten years, but it never happened. Chileans started a campaign, as a way to persuade the area population to just accept Chile as his or her new nation; however, the people of Tacna never fell for the Chilean propaganda. Finally, in 1929, the area of Tacna was reincorporated to Peruvian territory. For that reason, Tacna can also be referred to as Heroic City. Tacna is often a beautiful and incredibly commercially active city with a population of more than 200 000 people. The city counts with many different places of interest, including the monument of Alto del Alianza, a neo-Renaissance Cathedral, the Alameda Bolognesi Walkway, the caves of Toquepala, plus much more. Visiting this lovely and historical city and residing at an inn Tacna can be an unforgettable experience that I would recommend to everyone.
