Hate Words in Politics3696965
We must be able to concur with what words mean. It appears as if this kind of obvious matter not even worth mention, because language is really quite simple things. They mean what you mean, and everyone knows those definitions. Why if it is required to explain we have to agree with them when we already do?Mostly because some people appear to still find it a good idea to subvert the established meanings of words for own political purposes.
These people recklessly exaggerate and outright lie to have their ends, and the loser is the English language. This misuse of words creates what are called “buzzwords”. They're used frequently everywhere in the political spectrum, however the left have a selected penchant for employing them, and a couple of these favorites to use against those invoved with right wing news are “racist” and “xenophobe”.Prior to getting into what is being done about bat roosting words regularly, let's ask ourselves: Can we understand and agree upon the things they mean? It's worth the cost to actually consider that question, because history shows us just how ugly these words may be. At one time, it had been common worldwide (including, sadly, in the United States) for individuals of African descent being subjugated and enslaved at no cost labor by whites around the understanding, overlooked, that blacks were inherently inferior and possessed of no human rights which whites were guaranteed to respect (to paraphrase an exceptionally vile Supreme Court decision handed down within the nineteenth century). That's racism. Moreover, with this ach day, you will find people of a specific religion who will be so convinced from the rightness of their faith as well as the wickedness of most others they are wholly intolerant of people who profess a different world view. People who find themselves nothing like choices punished in numerous ways, including with death. That's xenophobia. However the left wants to throw these words around like they don't really describe true evil, and employ them to label people of the right wing political persuasion the ones in the Alt Right movement. And why? What are the crimes of the people so branded? Usually being concered about people from elements of the planet recognized to harbor terrorists (such as the aforementioned religious zealots) and looking to promote border security against illegal invasions from those who get lucky and overwhelmingly belong to a certain ethnicity. That, left, is xenophobia and racism - our buzzwords through the day.
