Regarding the Service The B'nei Mitzvah services are so spiritually fulfilling. It symbolizes your teenager's transformation from child to adult inside the eyes of our own faith. When B'nei Mitzvah recite the blessings within the Torah, they may be affirming they are old enough to be responsible for all that has been passed for many years - our traditions, rituals, teachings, and culture - and they also will uphold and, subsequently, pass every one of them to the next generation. This moment is widely known at Washington-Hebrew-Congregation-DC-mitzvah-photographer each time a teenager reads in the Torah the first time publicly during Shabbat services on the Fun or evening. The B'nei Mitzvah also lead a number of the prayers, read from the Haftarah (the books in the Prophets), and share their thoughts in connection with Torah portion and its link with us via a d'var Torah (words of Torah). This is a Shehechiyanu moment! Mazel tov!
