The bride`s Greek roots and also the groom`s Scottish heritage combined in the over-the-top celebration. When Sabrina Bells, a restaurant manager, met Bancroft Henderson, an analyst, with a rooftop pool party at her condo in Arlington, she never thought love could hit so near to home. But after 3 . 5 many years of dating, Bancroft proposed-right from the very same view-friendly spot where they first laid eyes on every other. “We were supposed to check out a birthday dinner which has a gang of friends,” says bride. “As we had arrived leaving my apartment, Bancroft claimed there was a green light illuminating the Washington Monument and the man took it to the rooftop pool to check on it.” Confused, Sabrina followed Bancroft upstairs to obtain the terrace encircled by candles, with a bottle of Champagne and roses waiting only for her to convey yes. A ceremony that elegantly wove Sabrina’s Greek Orthodox roots with Bancroft’s Scottish heritage followed nine months later, on September 15, 2012.
