The bride`s Greek roots and the groom`s Scottish heritage combined in the over-the-top celebration. When Sabrina Bells, a restaurant manager, met Bancroft Henderson, an analyst, at a rooftop pool party at her condo in Arlington, she never thought love could hit so close to home. But after 3 . 5 years of dating, Bancroft proposed-right within the very same view-friendly spot where they first laid eyes on every other. “We were designed to visit a birthday dinner with a band of friends,” says the bride. “As we had been leaving my apartment, Bancroft claimed that there was a green light illuminating the Washington Monument and the man wanted to go to the rooftop pool to evaluate against each other.” Confused, Sabrina followed Bancroft upstairs to get the terrace encircled by candles, which has a bottle of Champagne and roses waiting simply for her to state yes. A ceremony that elegantly wove Sabrina’s Greek Orthodox roots with Bancroft’s Scottish heritage followed nine months later, on September 15, 2012.
