The bride`s Greek roots and the groom`s Scottish heritage combined in an over-the-top celebration. When Sabrina Bells, a nearby restaurant manager, met Bancroft Henderson, an analyst, in a rooftop pool party at her condo in Arlington, she i never thought love could hit so near home. But after 3 . 5 a lot of dating, Bancroft proposed-right from the exact same view-friendly spot where they first laid eyes on each other. “We were meant to search for a birthday dinner having a group of friends,” says the bride. “As we were leaving my apartment, Bancroft claimed there was obviously a green light illuminating the Washington Monument and that he took it to the rooftop pool to check against each other.” Confused, Sabrina followed Bancroft upstairs to find the terrace encircled by candles, using a bottle of Champagne and roses waiting simply for her to say yes. A ceremony that elegantly wove Sabrina’s Greek Orthodox roots with Bancroft’s Scottish heritage followed nine months later, on September 15, 2012.
