The bride`s Greek roots along with the groom`s Scottish heritage combined in a over-the-top celebration. When Sabrina Bells, a nearby restaurant manager, met Bancroft Henderson, an analyst, at a rooftop pool party at her condo in Arlington, she never thought love could hit so near to home. But after 3 . 5 years of dating, Bancroft proposed-right inside the similar view-friendly spot where they first laid eyes on every other. “We were supposed to search for a birthday dinner with a number of friends,” says the bride. “As we were leaving my apartment, Bancroft claimed there would have been a green light illuminating the Washington Monument and the man wanted to go to the rooftop pool to test it out.” Confused, Sabrina followed Bancroft upstairs to find the terrace encircled by candles, with a bottle of Champagne and roses waiting simply for her to express yes. A ceremony that elegantly wove Sabrina’s Greek Orthodox roots with Bancroft’s Scottish heritage followed nine months later, on September 15, 2012.
