The bride`s Greek roots and also the groom`s Scottish heritage combined within an over-the-top celebration. When Sabrina Bells, a nearby restaurant manager, met Bancroft Henderson, an analyst, with a rooftop pool party at her condo in Arlington, she never imagined love could hit so near home. But after three and a half years of dating, Bancroft proposed-right from the exact same view-friendly spot where they first laid eyes on every other. “We were meant to search for a birthday dinner having a group of friends,” says bride. “As we were leaving my apartment, Bancroft claimed there would have been a green light illuminating the Washington Monument and that he took it to the rooftop pool to check on it.” Confused, Sabrina followed Bancroft upstairs to discover the terrace encircled by candles, using a bottle of Champagne and roses waiting exclusively for her to say yes. A ceremony that elegantly wove Sabrina’s Greek Orthodox roots with Bancroft’s Scottish heritage followed nine months later, on September 15, 2012.
