As Yemen descends further into war, a hunger crisis can be escalating. The U . n . reports those meals is "scarce" inside the conflict zones in southern Yemen. Vendors cannot restock their supplies. Food price is soaring. Displaced Yemenis in Abyan, Al Dhale'e and Lahj governorates need food assistance. Host communities for the displaced are offering to you food aid. However, the UN warns until this can not be sustained. The host communities themselves are afflicted by hunger and still have little reserve. اخبار اليمن اليوم, even before the latest violence, was mired in hunger and poverty. Based on the World Food Programme (WFP) over Forty percent of Yemenis are afflicted by hunger. Around 5 million Yemenis accept severe hunger.

WFP was planning to feed 6 000 0000 Yemenis prior to latest conflict erupted. Also facing massive hunger emergencies in Syria and Iraq, WFP is going to be required to deliver food assistance to Yemen's war victims. The UN food agency was facing a shortage of funds for the Yemen mission based on an investigation covering February. WFP relies entirely on voluntary donations. As Houthi rebels battle forces faithful to Yemen's ousted president, a civil war looms. It gets more dangerous as Al Qaeda in Yemen is gaining strength amid this chaos. As time passes the most deadly foe could be the hunger and malnutrition. UNICEF is reporting a shortage of Plumpy'Nut in four governorates. Plumpy'Nut is often a peanut paste used to treat child malnutrition. Without food, students are likely to suffer lasting mental and physical damage, or death. With the Ministry of Health, UNICEF is arranging the delivery of more Plumpy'nut for these governorates in need. Yemen has long struggled with child malnutrition, with many with the highest rates on the planet. Countless children need special foods like Plumpy'Nut. Access to those displaced though remains a challenge for aid groups. Humanitarian agencies are demanding a ceasefire to generate food and other life-saving aid.
